I made a ric rac flower snapable headband for Baby E and I didn't LOVE how it turned out. Too pink, not enough interest. Instead of trashing it, I want to salvage it but I had a piece of felt with a snap hot glued to it.
I found a very simple way to un-hot glue it!
Take your iron and press down for just a second, then pull it up. Repeat until you've completely removed the hot glued item.
Ta-da! Super simple and I was able to save the flower!
To break up the pink a bit, I decided to add a leaf. I cut a leaf shape out of green felt.
I stitched right on down the middle to give it a little detail.
Then I glued the leaf to the flower...
and added it to a soft headband!
I really love how it turned out. Now if I could just keep E from pulling it off her head, we'd be in business!
Super cute, and FAB-U-LOUS tip!!! Pinning! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tip! Knowing how to "undo" something we are working on and want to change, is important in the creative (but sometimes fickle) process!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteI learned this the hard way after I made cupcake cases with hot-glue. They fell apart in the oven!! Whoops :)
ReplyDeleteI love the 'new' look, and wow, such a good tip! Wish I had known it earlier so that I could've saved some (miserably) failed projects :)

ReplyDeleteGreat Tip! The headband is darling.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip! I've trashed too much because of hot glue. The flower is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteWow, believe it or not, I needed this tip today! I made a felt flower/feather hair clip, and after I finished it, I realized I hot glued the clip too far in, and can't open it. Sooo, I'm going to try your tip, thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove this Jessica!
