Scrappy Bobbies

Neccessity breeds invention, isn't that how it goes? While getting ready to leave for the UT game on Saturday morning, I found myself in need of another orange hair accessory. I wanted to wear my hair down, but needed to pin it to the side and wanted something a little more festive than a bobby pin. And it had to be orange. And we were walking out the door, so I didn't really have time to make anything.

Enter the Scrappy Bobby.

I took an orange scrap of fabric and ripped a little strip off and tied it in a knot around a bobby pin. Super simple and just the right amount of cheer! Also, it's a great way to use up the teeny tiny scraps you feel bad throwing out. And it's free, as most women already have bobby pins on hand.

You can wear them one at a time...

...or group them up!

I didn't use any glue and it's held just fine, but I'm sure you could use a dab of fabric glue or E6000 if you want to be extra sure. Let me know if you make some, I'd love to see them!

Although I pretty much never use bobby pins to secure my hair (too easy for little fingers to pull out!), I really enjoy saying "Scrappy Bobbies." Scrappy Bobbies scrappy bobbies scrappy bobbies. It's just fun.

Cute idea. Scrappy Bobbies is fun to say over and over again. I love Gatlinburg, especially in November. Your pumpkins are great -- they wanted $30 at the grocery store here for a med-sized one, but just felt that was way too much to pay. Have a happy day! :) Tammy
