but I can't anymore. I know your strings are getting tugged every which way on this subject and I know I don't have a huge following, but even little differences count.
With the earthquake in Haiti, so much has been destroyed. Basic needs are not being met. That's awful and I hurt for people who are going through devastation I can't even begin to fathom.
I began hearing little here-and-theres about parents who were in the process of adopting Haitian orphans, who were in Haiti to pick up their child when the earthquake happened, now forced to go home without their child. Government buildings were demolished, paperwork along with them. I understand that you cannot just send a child to another country by counting on some one's word alone, but these children are now in desperate situations. Their orphanages have been destroyed. Their caregivers are taking care of their own families, leaving few people to care for the orphans. These children are sleeping outside with little or no access to clean water or food in an environment full of desperate people.
These same children have families ready to take them into a safe home. But they can't.
