Days Like These...

...instinctively make me want to gather up every blanket and pillow in the house and build a tent fort with my siblings.

Sometimes we'd envelope the TV in our fort or cover the *whole entire* living room so the only way upstairs was to crawl through the tent. Which would totally irritate Mom. We'd grab some snacks, a couple flashlights, everysinglestuffedanimalweowned, books, cards and bunker down for the day, retreating only to go to the bathroom.

We played some epic games of war with not one, but TWO decks of cards. If my mom didn't make us come out, we'd still be under there playing that game. Anyone else build tent forts? Play War? Know what I'm talking about?

There is a linen closet in my parent's home, that was big enough for me to crawl into and shut the door. However, when mom or dad would come and look for me, I would be hiding between the wall and a pile of quilts. I would also hide under the bed with a coloring book and crayons.

My brothers and I use to get together in the Smokey Mountains during December, and we would always play War, Phase 10, Uno, Monopoly, Go Fish, Old Maid, and other board games.

Oh to be kids again!
