Shabby French Ruffle Cuff/Headband

I made it through to the next round of One Month to Win It, probably by the skin of my teeth!  Here is my project submission.  Did you guess which one was mine?

I was so excited about this week's theme, cause let me tell ya, I love me some Graphics Fairy!  The biggest challenge was narrowing down which graphics to use.

I settled on some sheet music and a fleur-de-lis and got to work on my Shabby French Ruffle Cuff!

First, I printed the graphics directly onto fabric using the freezer paper technique from The Scrap Shoppe.  This was seriously SO easy!  If you have an inkjet printer and didn't know you could print on fabric, head on over and let Michele tell you how it's done.  I feel like I've been missing out!

Then I cut a strip of sheet music from the fabric and ruffled it up with my trusty sewing machine and added some lace & trim.  To make the flower embellishment, I used the fleur-de-lis to cover a button and hot glued a bit of lace to the back.  I cut out a couple flowers and inked the edges, then stacked it all up and stitched it to the cuff.  I then added a length of black satin ribbon to each end and covered the back with a bit of black felt to finish it up!  All done! :)

BUT WAIT!  You didn't think that was all, did ya?  This Shabby French Ruffle Cuff lives a secret double life as a Shabby French Ruffle HEADBAND!  Just tie it around your head and you've got an accessory that pulls her own weight!

So there you have it!  A Shabby French Ruffle Cuff/Headband!  Do you have any accessories that pull double duty?

Snapable Headbands

I recently made some custom headbands for a sweet little baby girl.  We wanted a collection that would be easy to match with any outfit, without having a drawer full of headbands.

So, how did we make that happen?

Snaps!

Each flower and each headband has a snap, so you can mix and match to your heart's content!

Lots of options there. :)

That's a lot of posts about headbands!  I promise the next post will be something different - I've got a fun little project I'm working on, so drop back by!

150 Followers Headband Giveaway!

I made it to 150 followers (wow!) and as promised, I'm having a giveaway to celebrate! :)

How about some headbands?

One lucky winner will receive each of these three headbands!

All three headbands are 15-16" and will fit babies and children 6 months and up.  They are elastic, so they stretch!  The headbands fit my 3 month old, but she has a big head. :)

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment!  Please make sure to include your email address if your profile doesn't link to it.

I don't normally do this, buuuuut... since it's a giveaway to celebrate my followers, and since I now have a page on Facebook (did I forget to mention that?) I'ma give you the opportunity to get a couple extra entries!
So, that's a total of three potential entries per person:

1. Leave a comment, making sure to include your email address if your profile doesn't link to it.
2. If you're a follower, leave a separate comment letting me know.
3. Like Sunny Tuesday on Facebook and leave a separate comment on this blog letting me know.

I will leave this giveaway open for 10 days - till August 15th
I'll draw a random winner and announce (and email) the winner on Tuesday, August 16th.
Good luck and thank you for following my blog!

More Headbands

First of all, if you live in or near Nashville, make sure you stop by the West End C of C Consignment Sale this week!

Here are a few more of the headbands I made for the sale.  I'm so excited about this sale.  It's only our second one and we've already got twice the consignors we had at the spring sale!

If you'd like to volunteer or consign, it's not too late - you get early shopping passes, too! :)
